Currently the communities in the April Salumei area struggle with finding clean water. This increases the community's susceptibility to water borne diseases such as cholera and other bacterial stomach upsets. These communities are dependent on water from the river for washing, cleaning and drinking and these diseases are common in times of flooding or low water levels.
The Clean Water Project aims to provide sustainable water purification and sanitation for each village. This project will be subject to financing and we hope to commence this in 2016.
